What Gulf conditions change

  • Refrigerant is not a consumable. A car AC is a sealed circuit, so if the gas is low it has escaped somewhere, usually through a hose joint, a seal or a condenser hit by road debris. In a Dubai summer the system runs at high pressure for hours every day, which makes small leaks show up sooner than in a mild climate.

What car ac gas refilling covers

  • Refrigerant type and charge weight confirmed

  • Recovery of the remaining old gas

  • Vacuum to remove air and moisture

  • Leak check before the system is refilled

  • Recharge by weight with compressor oil

  • Vent temperature and pressure readings afterwards

Signs you need car ac gas refilling

  • The AC cools less each month and takes longer to bring the cabin down.

  • The compressor clicks on and off every few seconds with the AC switched on.

  • Vents blow cool air while driving but turn lukewarm at traffic lights.

  • Oily residue is visible on an AC pipe joint or around the service ports.

How it works, step by step

  1. Send car details

Call or WhatsApp your location with the make, model and year. The refrigerant type and the charge weight vary by model, so both are confirmed before a technician is sent.

  2. Pressure and leak check

The technician reads the system pressures, recovers what gas is left and pulls a vacuum. If the vacuum does not hold, there is a leak, and refilling would only waste gas.

  3. Recharge by weight

A sealed system is refilled with the exact weight of refrigerant printed on the label under the bonnet, plus compressor oil where needed. Topping up by guesswork is avoided.

  4. Cooling test and handover

Vent temperature and running pressures are checked with the engine idling and the cabin closed. You see the readings, and you are told plainly if a repair is still needed.

Car AC Gas Refilling: questions

All questions and answers
R134a or R1234yf: which does my car use?

It depends on the model, year and market specification. R1234yf is the newer gas and appears on many recent cars, while R134a remains common on older and many Gulf-specification models. The label under the bonnet states the type. The two are not interchangeable and use different service fittings, so we confirm before dispatch.

How often does a car AC need regassing?

There is no fixed schedule. A sealed system in good condition can go years without losing a noticeable amount. If cooling drops within weeks or months of a refill, there is a leak, and it needs finding and fixing. Refilling again without a leak check only delays the same problem.

Can the regas be done in my parking?

Often, yes. The technician needs space to open the bonnet, access to the car with the engine running, and reasonable ventilation. Some basements and mall car parks restrict this kind of work. If your location is unsuitable or a leak repair is needed, the car goes to a partner workshop instead.

What decides the cost of an AC regas?

The refrigerant type and how much your system holds are the main factors. R1234yf costs more than R134a for the same weight, and large SUVs with rear AC hold more. Any leak repair is separate. You are told the figure for your car before the technician starts, and nothing is added without your agreement.
