Mazda battery replacement in Dubai, 24/7

We come to your Mazda anywhere in Dubai, 24/7, to test the battery, jump-start it or replace it on the spot. Many Skyactiv Mazdas sold here have i-stop, which needs a stop-start grade battery, commonly the Q-85 EFB, in place of an ordinary flooded one. We confirm the type from your model and year before a technician is sent.

Mazda battery sizes by model

Typical Gulf-spec fitment for the Mazda models we see most. Engine and model year can change it, so we match the label on your current battery before dispatch.

ModelBattery typeTypical sizeNote
Mazda3EFBQ-85 (65 Ah)Cars without i-stop take a standard 55D23L in the same case, and older 1.6 models use a smaller NS60L.
Mazda6EFBQ-85 (65 Ah)Older models without i-stop use a standard 55D23L in the same D23L case.
CX-5EFBQ-85 (65 Ah)—
CX-9EFBQ-85 (65 Ah)The earlier 3.7 V6 has no i-stop and takes a conventional battery, confirmed by year.

Sizes are a guide, not a guarantee. Send a photo of the battery label for an exact match.

Battery registration on Mazda

  • After a battery change on an i-stop Mazda, the battery management system must be reset to learn the new battery. Until then the i-stop light may flash and the system stays off. We do this reset after fitting.

Mazda in the UAE: what wears the battery

Mazda owners in the UAE are mostly private drivers who use the car daily: Mazda3 and Mazda6 for commuting, CX-5 and CX-9 for family duty. In heavy traffic on Al Khail Road or Hessa Street, i-stop cuts and restarts the engine again and again, which works the battery far harder than steady driving.

The CX-60 and CX-90 with the 3.3 six-cylinder engine pair a 48V mild-hybrid system with a normal 12V battery. The 12V unit still runs the lights, locks and computers. That is the battery we test and replace at the car.

What is different about Mazda batteries

  • Q-85 for i-stop cars

Mazdas with i-stop use a dedicated stop-start battery, typically the Q-85 EFB in a D23L case. A standard 55D23L fits the same tray but is not built for repeated restarts. It will fail early, and i-stop may stop working.

  • i-ELOOP stores energy separately

Some Mazda6 and other higher trims have i-ELOOP, which stores braking energy in a capacitor, not in the battery. The 12V battery still starts the car and must still be the stop-start type. The system does not remove the need for a healthy battery.

  • Battery box and air duct

On Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5 the battery sits in a plastic box with a cover, and on many cars an intake duct runs across it. These parts need to come off and be refitted properly so nothing rattles or rubs on the cables.

  • i-stop quits before the battery

When i-stop no longer switches the engine off at traffic lights, the system has often judged the battery too weak for a reliable restart. It is an early warning that can appear weeks before slow cranking. A test confirms whether the battery is near its end.

Jump start, test or replace your Mazda

A car that will not start does not always need a new battery. The technician tests first, then does the smallest job that gets you moving.

Battery replacement

When it fits: The battery fails the test, will not hold charge, or is swollen or leaking.

  • New battery matched to your car, delivered and fitted where you are parked
  • Charging system checked once the engine is running
  • Old battery taken away for recycling, warranty up to 24 months
How it works

Car Battery Jump Start

When it fits: Lights were left on or the car sat for days, and the battery is otherwise healthy.

  • A technician sent to your location in Dubai at any hour, with the arrival estimate confirmed before dispatch
  • A professional booster with surge protection instead of cables run from another car
  • Connection at the points your car maker specifies, including dedicated jump posts under the bonnet
How it works

Car Battery Testing

When it fits: Slow cranking, a warning light, or a battery that keeps going flat.

  • Resting voltage reading: about 12.6 to 12.8 V is healthy, and below 12.4 V the battery needs a recharge
  • Conductance or load test: the battery should hold 9.6 V or more under load
  • Charging voltage with the engine running, normally about 13.8 to 14.4 V
How it works

How a Mazda battery replacement works

You know the battery, the arrival estimate and what is included before a technician leaves for your car.

  1. Send your location

Call or WhatsApp your location pin, the car make, model and year, and where it is parked.

  2. We confirm before dispatch

You hear which battery fits, whether registration is part of the job and the estimated arrival time.

  3. Tested at the car

The technician checks the battery and the charging system and tells you what the readings mean.

  4. Started or replaced

A jump start if that is enough. If not, the new battery goes in, the old one leaves with us and you pay by cash, card, Tabby or Tamara.

Mazda battery questions

All questions and answers
Why is the i-stop light flashing after my Mazda battery was changed?

The car has not yet learned the new battery. Mazda battery management needs a reset after replacement, and until that is done the amber i-stop light flashes and stop-start stays disabled. The car still drives normally. If another garage fitted the battery, we can check the reset and the battery type.

Can I fit a normal battery to a Mazda with i-stop?

It will fit and start the car, but it is the wrong choice. i-stop restarts the engine dozens of times in city traffic, and a standard flooded battery wears out quickly under that load. Use the Q-85 EFB type the car was built with, and the system keeps working as designed.

Which battery does a Mazda CX-5 take?

Most CX-5 models in the UAE use a Q-85 EFB battery in the Japanese D23L case, because i-stop is fitted. A few early or base cars without i-stop take a conventional 55D23L of the same dimensions. Send us the year and we confirm which one applies.

How do I know my Mazda battery is failing?

Early signs on a Mazda are i-stop no longer cutting the engine at traffic lights, slower cranking on the first start of the day, and the infotainment screen restarting during a start. A rested battery reading below 12.4 V needs charging and a load test.
