Models with Stop and Start use an EFB or AGM battery and a charge sensor on the negative terminal. The replacement must match the original technology or the system stops working.
Let the car go to sleep
Before the battery comes off, the body computer should be allowed to power down for a few minutes with the ignition off and doors shut. Rushing this step can cause odd electrical faults afterwards.

Which battery does a Citroën Relay take?
A Citroën Relay typically takes a maintenance-free flooded or EFB or AGM battery, in the range DIN 70 – DIN 100 (L3–L5). Most Relay cars take a maintenance-free battery. Versions with auto start-stop need EFB or AGM instead. If your engine switches off at traffic lights, tell us and we bring the right type.
Can you replace a Relay battery where it is parked?

Does the Relay need battery registration?
It depends on the year and specification. Versions with a battery sensor or start-stop need the new battery registered or the monitoring reset. Tell us the model year and we confirm before dispatch whether it applies and whether it is included.
How long does a Relay battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Why do electrical faults appear after a Citroën battery change?
Usually because the battery was disconnected while the control units were still awake, or reconnected and switched on too fast. We wait for the car to shut down, reconnect carefully and reinitialise windows and other settings before leaving.
