What to know about DR batteries
Matching the battery
For a DR we go by three things on the old battery: the size code, the capacity in Ah and which side the positive terminal is on. A clear photo of the label is enough.
Size standard
Italian cars use DIN cases. City cars take compact units, while performance models often hide the battery in the boot or behind a panel, which adds a few minutes to the job.
What to send us for a DR1
Your location pin, with building name and parking level if it is in a basement
The model year of your DR1 and the engine if you know it
A photo of the label on the battery now in the car
What happens when you try to start: clicking, nothing at all, or a slow crank
How we replace a DR1 battery
You know the battery, the arrival estimate and what is included before a technician leaves for your car.
Send your location
Call or WhatsApp your location pin, the car make, model and year, and where it is parked.
We confirm before dispatch
You hear which battery fits, whether registration is part of the job and the estimated arrival time.
Tested at the car
The technician checks the battery and the charging system and tells you what the readings mean.
Started or replaced
A jump start if that is enough. If not, the new battery goes in, the old one leaves with us and you pay by cash, card, Tabby or Tamara.
DR1 battery questions
Which battery does a DR1 take?
A DR1 typically takes a maintenance-free flooded battery, in the range DIN 45 – DIN 60 (L1–L2). The DR1 takes a sealed maintenance-free battery. In Gulf heat the things that matter are the correct case size, enough capacity for the AC and accessories, and a recent manufacture date.
Can you replace a DR1 battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the DR1 need battery registration?
No. The DR1 does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a DR1 battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
What warranty comes with a DR battery?
Up to 24 months, depending on the battery chosen. The exact term is confirmed when you order and written on the invoice the technician hands over.
