The 2011 to 2021 Grand Cherokee carries its battery under the front passenger seat. Jump-start posts sit under the bonnet. Changing it means sliding the seat, lifting a cover and reconnecting the vent tube, so allow a little more time.

A Jeep Renegade typically takes an AGM or EFB battery, in the range Group 48 / 94R / 49 / 65. The Renegade uses start-stop and energy recovery, so it needs an AGM or EFB battery. A conventional battery in its place wears out within months.
Can you replace a Renegade battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the Renegade need battery registration?
No. The Renegade does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a Renegade battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Where is the Grand Cherokee battery?
On the 2011 to 2021 Grand Cherokee it is under the front passenger seat, not in the engine bay. The red and black posts under the bonnet are only for jump-starting. We replace the battery from inside the cabin and protect the seat and carpet while working.
