What to know about Lynk&Co batteries
EFB or AGM for stop-start
Lynk & Co turbo engines use stop-start, and these cars need an EFB or AGM battery as originally fitted. A standard flooded battery will fail early, and the car will switch stop-start off.
09 has a 48V system
The 09 flagship pairs its 2.0 litre turbo engine with 48V mild-hybrid hardware on the SPA platform it shares with the Volvo XC90. Its 12V battery is separate, and that is the unit we test and replace.
Does the 05 need battery registration?
Lynk & Co cars on Volvo-derived platforms monitor the battery through a sensor. After replacement we check with a scan tool whether the monitor needs resetting and do it on site if so.

Which battery does a Lynk&Co 05 take?
A Lynk&Co 05 typically takes an AGM or EFB battery, in the range DIN 70 – DIN 100 (L3–L5). The 05 uses start-stop and energy recovery, so it needs an AGM or EFB battery. A conventional battery in its place wears out within months.
Can you replace a 05 battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the 05 need battery registration?
It depends on the year and specification. Versions with a battery sensor or start-stop need the new battery registered or the monitoring reset. Tell us the model year and we confirm before dispatch whether it applies and whether it is included.
How long does a 05 battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Stop-start no longer works on my Lynk & Co. Is the battery failing?
That is the most common cause. The car disables stop-start when battery charge or health falls below its threshold, to protect starting. We test the battery at the car. If it passes, short trips and heavy AC use are the likely reason.
