What to know about Nissan batteries
Small cases on Sunny and Micra
Sunny, Micra and similar small Nissans use compact NS40-class batteries of roughly 35 Ah. There is little reserve, so a door left ajar or parking lights left on overnight can flatten one. A jump start usually recovers it if the battery is still healthy.
Variable charging on newer Nissans
Many recent Nissans have a current sensor on the negative battery cable and vary the alternator output to save fuel. A reading near 13 V at idle can be normal. We test charging under load before blaming the alternator, and the sensor must be reconnected properly after a battery change.

Which battery does a Nissan V16 take?
A Nissan V16 typically takes a maintenance-free flooded or EFB or AGM battery, in the range 55D23 – 80D26 (60–70 Ah). Most V16 cars take a maintenance-free battery. Versions with auto start-stop need EFB or AGM instead. If your engine switches off at traffic lights, tell us and we bring the right type.
Can you replace a V16 battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the V16 need battery registration?
No. The V16 does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a V16 battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Why does my Patrol battery die after a week at the airport?
A parked Patrol still feeds its alarm, keyless entry and control units. A healthy battery copes for a few weeks, but one already weakened by heat may not last one. We can jump-start it in the car park and test it, and replace it there if it no longer holds charge.
