On earlier Fortwo generations you lift the passenger carpet and a foam panel to reach the battery. Later cars moved it to the front. Either way it is a compact unit with modest capacity.
The #1, #3 and #5 are battery-electric cars from the Mercedes-Benz and Geely joint venture. Their 12 V auxiliary battery is model-specific, so we confirm type and access before sending a technician.
Older Fortwo city cars are still used for short hops around Dubai. The electric Smart #1 and #3 arrived in late 2024, followed by the #5. Short trips never fully recharge a small battery, so the petrol cars go flat often.
All current Smart models are electric. If the 12 V battery is flat the car will not power up, whatever the main pack shows. We test and support the 12 V side and tell you if it needs the dealer.

Car was dead on P2 of my building at 1 am. I sent the tower name and parking level, they told me which battery the Patrol takes and when the technician would get there. He tested it first, showed me the reading, then fitted the new one.
