Window reset after disconnection
After the battery has been disconnected, the one-touch function of Subaru power windows usually needs to be re-initialised by holding the switch. The idle can also feel uneven for a short drive while the engine computer relearns. Both are normal.
Modified WRX and parasitic drain
Aftermarket alarms, boost gauges, dash cams and amplifiers are common on WRX and STI models. Each adds a small constant draw. If a healthy battery goes flat after a few days parked, the drain needs tracing, and a new battery alone will not cure it.

Which battery does a Subaru WRX STI take?
A Subaru WRX STI typically takes a maintenance-free flooded or EFB or AGM battery, in the range 55D23 – 80D26 (60–70 Ah). Most WRX STI cars take a maintenance-free battery. Versions with auto start-stop need EFB or AGM instead. If your engine switches off at traffic lights, tell us and we bring the right type.
Can you replace a WRX STI battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the WRX STI need battery registration?
No. The WRX STI does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a WRX STI battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Why does my WRX battery keep going flat?
On a modified WRX the usual cause is a constant draw from added electronics such as an alarm, dash cam or amplifier. Short drives with long gaps between them make it worse. We test the battery and charging first; if both pass, the wiring of the add-ons needs to be checked.
