What to know about Jaguar batteries
Boot-mounted battery
The XF, XJ, XK and F-Type keep the battery under the boot floor. Jump-start terminals are under the bonnet, so the boot does not need to open for a boost. The transverse-engined E-Pace has its battery in the engine bay.
AGM, usually H7 or H8
Jaguars from about 2010 onward use AGM batteries, usually 80 Ah (H7) or 95 Ah (H8). Start-stop cars such as the F-Type add a small auxiliary battery beside the main one. Older S-Type and X-Type models run conventional flooded batteries.
Does the I-Pace need battery registration?
Jaguars from the XF onward use a battery monitoring system that is reset with a diagnostic tool after a new battery goes in. S-Type and X-Type models do not. We confirm ahead of dispatch whether that reset is included.

Jaguar I-Pace battery questions
Which battery does a Jaguar I-Pace take?
A Jaguar I-Pace typically takes an AGM or EFB battery, in the range DIN 70 – DIN 100 (L3–L5). The I-Pace uses start-stop and energy recovery, so it needs an AGM or EFB battery. A conventional battery in its place wears out within months.
Can you replace a I-Pace battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the I-Pace need battery registration?
On most model years, yes. The car tracks the age and type of its battery, so the new one has to be registered or it keeps charging as if the old battery were still fitted. We confirm before dispatch whether registration is included for your I-Pace.
How long does a I-Pace battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
How do you get to the battery if the boot will not open?
Power is fed in through the jump-start terminals under the bonnet first. Once the car has voltage, the boot release works and the battery under the floor can be reached. The bonnet opens with a mechanical lever, so a completely flat battery does not block the job.
