What to know about Lexus batteries
Smart key drain when parked
A Lexus keeps listening for its smart key while parked. Left for two or three weeks, or parked with the key stored close to the car, an older battery can drop too low to start. A jump start and a proper drive usually recover a healthy one.
Low voltage shows as warnings
On a Lexus, a weak battery often shows up as warning messages before slow cranking: check system alerts, a power tailgate that stops halfway, or an audio system that restarts. A voltage and load test tells us whether the battery is the cause.

Which battery does a Lexus NX take?
A Lexus NX typically takes a maintenance-free flooded or EFB or AGM battery, in the range 80D26 – 105D31 (70–90 Ah). Most NX cars take a maintenance-free battery. Versions with auto start-stop need EFB or AGM instead. If your engine switches off at traffic lights, tell us and we bring the right type.
Can you replace a NX battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the NX need battery registration?
No. The NX does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a NX battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
My Lexus was parked for three weeks and now will not start. Does it need a new battery?
Not always. Three weeks of smart key and alarm standby can empty a good battery. We jump-start the car and test it once it has run. If it settles above 12.4 V and passes a load test it stays; if not, we replace it on the spot.
