What to know about Mitsubishi batteries
Ageing Pajeros need a wider check
Pajero production ended in 2021, so every one on the road is getting older. On these cars we look at terminal corrosion, the earth strap and alternator output as well as the battery, because a new battery fitted to a weak charging system fails early.
Canter trucks often run 24V
Many Canter light trucks use a 24V system with two 12V batteries connected in series. They should be replaced as a matched pair, and a 12V car cannot jump-start them. Tell us it is a truck when you call so we can confirm what is needed.

Mitsubishi Galant Fortis battery questions
Which battery does a Mitsubishi Galant Fortis take?
A Mitsubishi Galant Fortis typically takes a maintenance-free flooded battery, in the range 55D23 – 80D26 (60–70 Ah). The Galant Fortis takes a sealed maintenance-free battery. In Gulf heat the things that matter are the correct case size, enough capacity for the AC and accessories, and a recent manufacture date.
Can you replace a Galant Fortis battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the Galant Fortis need battery registration?
No. The Galant Fortis does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a Galant Fortis battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Is it worth putting a new battery in an old Pajero?
Yes, if the charging system is sound. We test the alternator output and check the terminals and earth strap first. If those are healthy, a new 80D26L restores normal starting. If the alternator is weak we tell you, because a new battery alone would run flat again within days.
