After a battery change, Stop and Start may stay unavailable on the first drives. The battery sensor needs the car to rest, locked and undisturbed, for several hours to measure the new battery. This is described in the handbook and is not a fault.

Which battery does a Peugeot 508L take?
A Peugeot 508L typically takes a maintenance-free flooded or EFB or AGM battery, in the range DIN 60 – DIN 80 (L2–L4). Most 508L cars take a maintenance-free battery. Versions with auto start-stop need EFB or AGM instead. If your engine switches off at traffic lights, tell us and we bring the right type.
Can you replace a 508L battery where it is parked?

Does the 508L need battery registration?

How long does a 508L battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
My Peugeot shows "Economy mode active". What does it mean?
The car is protecting the battery. With the engine off, comfort functions are cut once the battery charge falls to a set level, so enough remains to start. Seeing it occasionally after long use with the engine off is normal. Seeing it quickly, or every day, points to an ageing battery.
