Ram 2500 and 3500 with the Cummins diesel use two 12V batteries wired in parallel. Replacing only one leaves the old battery dragging the new one down, so we test both and normally change them together.
Ram 1500 models with eTorque have a 48V mild-hybrid pack that restarts the engine, plus a 12V AGM battery for everything else. We replace the 12V unit only. The 48V pack is a dealer item.
