What to know about Subaru batteries
Modified WRX and parasitic drain
Aftermarket alarms, boost gauges, dash cams and amplifiers are common on WRX and STI models. Each adds a small constant draw. If a healthy battery goes flat after a few days parked, the drain needs tracing, and a new battery alone will not cure it.
Boxer layout, easy battery access
The flat boxer engine sits low, which leaves the battery in open view at the front corner of the engine bay. Access is straightforward, so most Subaru replacements are quick once the correct case and terminal layout are confirmed.

Subaru Legacy Lancaster battery questions
Which battery does a Subaru Legacy Lancaster take?
A Subaru Legacy Lancaster typically takes a maintenance-free flooded battery, in the range 55D23 – 80D26 (60–70 Ah). The Legacy Lancaster takes a sealed maintenance-free battery. In Gulf heat the things that matter are the correct case size, enough capacity for the AC and accessories, and a recent manufacture date.
Can you replace a Legacy Lancaster battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the Legacy Lancaster need battery registration?
No. The Legacy Lancaster does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a Legacy Lancaster battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Can you reach a Subaru stuck outside Dubai city?
We cover Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, including roadside calls. Send your live location on WhatsApp with the model and year. We confirm whether we can reach you, which battery is needed and an arrival estimate before dispatch, since remote spots take longer.
