Signs you need suspension and alignment

  • The car bounces more than once after a speed hump or dips hard under braking.

  • A knock or clunk comes from one corner over bumps and rough surfaces.

  • Tyres are wearing on the inner or outer edge faster than the centre.

  • The steering wheel sits off-centre, or the car drifts to one side on a straight road.

What suspension and alignment covers

  • Suspension inspection on a lift

  • Shock absorber and strut mount replacement

  • Control arm, ball joint and bushing replacement

  • Anti-roll bar link and bush checks

  • Four-wheel alignment after the repair

  • Before and after alignment readings supplied

What Gulf conditions change

  • Rubber does not like heat, and suspension bushings are rubber. Years of hot summers and hot tarmac dry them out until they crack and let the arms move. Add the speed humps found in almost every Dubai community and the occasional sandy track, and shock absorbers and bushings here tend to wear sooner than in a cooler climate.

How it works, step by step

  1. Explain the symptom

Call or WhatsApp with your location, car make, model and year. Describe the noise, which corner it comes from and whether it happens over humps, when turning or while braking.

  2. Collection

A driver takes the car to the partner workshop. If a spring has broken or a ball joint has separated, the car should not be driven and goes on a flatbed.

  3. Inspection and quote

On the lift, each joint and bushing is checked for play, shock absorbers for leaks, and springs for cracks. You receive a list of worn parts with a quote, in order of urgency.

  4. Fit, align, return

Approved parts are fitted, usually in axle pairs for shock absorbers, then the wheels are aligned to the manufacturer figures. The car is road tested and delivered back with the alignment printout.

Suspension and Alignment: questions

All questions and answers
Why is alignment needed after suspension work?

Control arms, ball joints, tie rods and struts set the angles of the wheels. Replacing any of them shifts those angles slightly, even with identical parts. Without an alignment the car can pull, the steering wheel can sit crooked and new tyres wear unevenly within a few thousand kilometres. So alignment is part of the job.

Should shock absorbers be replaced in pairs?

Yes, on the same axle. A new shock absorber on one side and a worn one on the other gives uneven damping, which affects braking and stability in a sudden lane change. Front and rear pairs do not have to be done together. The workshop tells you which axle needs attention now and which can wait.

My car only needs alignment. Is this the right service?

If nothing is worn and you simply want the angles checked after new tyres or a kerb strike, the wheel alignment service is enough. This page covers cases where parts need replacing first. An alignment done on worn bushings or ball joints will not hold, so the inspection decides which you need.

What decides the cost of suspension repair?

The parts that are worn, how many, and the type of suspension. A pair of links is a small job, while control arms on a multi-link axle or air suspension components on a large SUV are not. Alignment is added once. A quote listing each part is sent before any work begins.
